Job Description

Whole Foods Market is a renowned leader in the grocery industry, known for its commitment to providing high-quality natural and organic foods. Founded with a purpose to nourish people and the planet, Whole Foods Market goes beyond just operating as a grocery store. Its mission encompasses improving how people eat, supporting community initiatives like funding school garden grants, enhancing access to fresh and healthy food in underserved areas, alleviating poverty in developing countries, and fostering sustainable and ethical food production practices. This dedication to community impact and environmental stewardship makes Whole Foods Market a unique workplace that attracts individuals passionate about making a difference on both local and global scales.

Working at Whole Foods Market means being part of a company that sets the standards of excellence and innovation in the grocery retail sector. The culture encourages personal growth, teamwork, and leadership development, providing employees with the opportunity to influence positive change. Whole Foods Market values diversity, inclusion, and equal employment opportunities for all team members and candidates, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment.

This particular role involves assisting the Team Leader in overseeing daily store operations with a focus on key areas such as profitability, expense control, buying, merchandising, labor management, regulatory compliance, and special projects. The position requires leadership qualities to develop and mentor team members while maintaining high standards of customer service and retail execution. Employees in this role are expected to embody Whole Foods Market’s core values, support company programs and initiatives, and ensure adherence to health and safety regulations, including food safety protocols.

Candidates will be responsible for creating engaging store layouts, managing vendor relationships, analyzing sales and labor reports, and resolving team issues. The role acts as a secondary point of contact in the absence of the Team Leader and demands a proactive mindset for fostering team morale and delivering exceptional customer experiences. Whole Foods Market offers this hourly position with a pay range of $19.05 to $33.20, commensurate with experience. The company also provides comprehensive benefits under its Whole Benefits program, covering health, wellness, financial support, paid time off, and employee discounts. This makes the opportunity attractive for individuals seeking not only a job but a career with impactful purpose and growth potential.
