Job Requirements

No formal education required
0 to 3 years minimum relevant experience
Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish preferred
Ability to perform physical demands including standing, walking, lifting up to 35 lbs and pulling up to 250 lbs
Willingness to work varied shifts
Ability to follow safety and food handling guidelines
Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environments with various temperature conditions

Job Qualifications

High school diploma or GED preferred
0 to 3 years of relevant experience preferred
Ability to speak English and Spanish preferred
Strong customer service skills
Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices
Ability to work varied shifts
Effective communication and teamwork skills

Job Duties

Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important and appreciated
Deliver daily conditions that meet the company’s expectations for at shelf product availability, freshness, quality and value
Offer product samples, answer product questions and offer customers assistance in finding or suggesting products
Ensure customer requests and special orders are fulfilled
Promote trust and respect among associates by collaborating, promoting teamwork and communicating company, department, and job specific information
Maintain awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and report any discrepancies in inventory
Review/inspect products for quality and freshness and take appropriate action with those items
Prepare, package, label, and display products for sale
Utilize production planning tools to accurately produce fresh products and ensure discarding or markdown processes are followed to reduce shrink
Ensure product is held at the proper temperature per food safety guidelines and retain documentation of temperate logs per policy
Ensure company standards for safety, proper food handling practices, sanitation and productivity are maintained
Adhere to all regulatory compliance requirements pertaining to food safety, USDA and COOL, and DOA
Execute all product recalls and withdrawals in a timely manner while ensuring all items are secured and removed from customer access
Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures and inspecting and identifying unsafe conditions to report to store management
Notify management of customer or employee accidents
Report all safety risk, or issues, and illegal activity, including robbery, theft or fraud
Ensure adherence to wage and hour policies and regulations
Cultivate a culture of safety within the store
Ensure self and all associates are working safely and have received necessary safety training
Ensure Hazardous Assessments are posted for associate reference and that Personal Protective Equipment is available and utilized by all associates executing tasks within the department, as required
Ensure equipment is in good repair
Report and assist with remediation of safety hazards within the department
Perform other job-related duties as assigned
