Job Description

Butter Pecan Bakeshop is a charming cookie shop renowned for its irresistible treats inspired by childhood favorites and classic southern recipes. Established with a passion for delivering "The BEST cookies in the Bay," this establishment has quickly carved out a niche by combining nostalgic flavors with exceptional customer service. Located in a vibrant community, Butter Pecan Bakeshop prides itself on fostering a fun, fast-paced start-up environment where innovation meets tradition. The company is steadily growing and seeking motivated individuals who are friendly, growth-oriented, and dedicated to excellence to join their dynamic team. The team at Butter Pecan Bakeshop embodies commitment, teamwork, and a shared passion for baking, making it an ideal workplace for those eager to contribute in a supportive and energetic atmosphere.

The role of the Bakery Assistant at Butter Pecan Bakeshop offers a unique opportunity to work directly in the cookie dough production facility where meticulousness, speed, and physical stamina are key attributes to success. As a Bakery Assistant, you will play an essential part in the production line, helping to prepare, handle, and package cookie dough while ensuring all processes meet stringent food safety and production guidelines. This position is part-time, with shifts typically lasting between 6 to 8 hours, requiring availability during weekday mornings and occasional weekends. Compensation ranges from $17 to $18 per hour, reflecting the importance of this role within the company.

Your responsibilities will include assisting with dough preparation such as handling, rolling, and circling the dough; boxing dough for transportation; palletizing boxes; loading supplies and boxes onto trucks; prepping ingredients; and maintaining cleanliness through dishwashing and overall sanitation practices. Flexibility is essential, as you will also support kitchen baking activities when needed, contributing to the overall efficiency of the production process. The company emphasizes high standards in food safety, requiring all staff to hold a valid Food Handler's Certificate and to wear necessary protective gear—including hairnets, aprons, and gloves—at all times.

Ideal candidates for this role are dependable individuals with excellent attendance records, who are comfortable working both independently and collaboratively. They must demonstrate integrity, a positive attitude, and initiative, thriving in a fast-paced environment while adapting to evolving company needs. Given the physical nature of the role, candidates should possess the stamina to perform repetitive motions and lift up to 50 pounds regularly. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask efficiently are also required to maintain the quality and safety standards of Butter Pecan Bakeshop’s production line.

Joining Butter Pecan Bakeshop means becoming part of a diverse and inclusive workplace that values each employee's contributions. The company is an equal opportunity employer, welcoming applicants from all backgrounds without discrimination. Employees benefit from a supportive team environment that promotes growth and development, alongside practical benefits including paid vacation, birthday and anniversary days off, participation in a retirement savings program, and a generous employee discount. This position is an excellent entry point for individuals seeking to build a career in the food production industry, particularly within a growing start-up bakery setting that values quality, teamwork, and customer satisfaction.
