The role of Assistant Bakery Manager at Bristol Farms is pivotal in maintaining and enhancing the Bakery Department’s operations and customer satisfaction. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Three to six months related experience
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, memos, bakery orders, instructions, manuals, and schedules
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups
- Customer service driven with ability to speak, read, and understand English
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using whole numbers
- Ability to interpret various instructions and resolve conflicts
- Ability to analyze situations and implement solutions
- Ability to stand for long periods, walk, frequently use hands and fingers
- Occasionally reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl

Job Duties
- Assist in development of the Bakery Department by coordinating activities of employees in absence of Bakery Manager
- Lead by example by modeling correct behavior and adherence to company policies
- Train and develop employees to assure freshness, quality, customer service, and sanitation
- Ensure proper training on weighing, slicing, cutting, and serving of bakery goods
- Train employees in suggestive selling, merchandising techniques, and customer service skills
- Assist with ordering, receiving of products, and proper invoice routing
- Implement and execute all merchandising programs
- Set up advertising displays or arrange merchandise to promote sales
- Observe employee work habits and provide feedback to assure consistency
- Maintain compliance with California Weights & Measures mandates
- Monitor price integrity standards including accurate pricing and signage
- Package, display, and merchandise bakery goods per company standards
- Maintain health codes and sanitation standards
- Use authorized cleaning chemicals properly
- Follow FIFO rotation system to maintain product freshness
- Cover, label, and date leftover products
- Inspect items during baking processes for quality and sanitation
- Inspect finished products for quality, weight, and presentation standards
- Follow safety standards and report hazards
- Document safety training and report accidents
- Manage inventory control, theft prevention, and product storage
- Bake products as needed
- Assist with receiving, breakdown, and storage of bakery products
- Maintain bakery department cleanliness
- Manage bakery logbook materials
- Communicate department issues with Bakery Manager and Store Director
- Use management tools
- Assist in preparing weekly work schedules
- Manage cost control by overseeing overtime and supply costs
- Assist customers with orders and suggestive selling
- Provide exceptional customer service
- Address customer complaints or inquiries
- Enforce employee handbook policies, especially regarding service and appearance
