Job Requirements
- Associates degree in occupational studies or baking and pastry arts highly preferred
- Experience in professional baking required
- Experience baking for large volume dining preferred
- Ability to frequently lift up to 25 pounds, occasionally lift up to 50 pounds and 100 with assistance
- ServSafe Food Safety Certification or training required
- Food allergy training essential with necessary training completed upon hiring if no prior experience
- Excellent customer service and appropriate communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced food service environment
- Flexibility to work varying schedules and report during inclement weather
- Ability to follow all safety and sanitation practices
- Adherence to uniform standards
- Must be dependable and willing to learn new bakery concepts
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in occupational studies or baking and pastry arts highly preferred
- Experience in professional baking required
- Experience baking for large volume dining preferred

Job Duties
- Handle, mix, and bake raw ingredients to produce baked breads, rolls, cakes, pies, pastries, and other desserts for all campus locations including catering and retail operations
- Ensure breakfast, lunch, and dinner desserts are prepared and delivered to the dining hall prior to meal periods and documented on the bakery production log
- Participate in recipe ideation and development with the Pastry Chef by collaborating, creating, testing, and improving recipes
- Follow and oversee compliance with standardized sanitation and safety practices in all recipes, production, and service records
- Operate electric mixers, fryers, roll cutters, hand-cutters, mixing tools, pots, pans, baking ovens, and proof boxes
- Adhere to all safety and sanitation practices in accordance with the city health code
- Perform other similar or related duties as requested
