Wegmans has consistently ranked high on Fortune's 100 Best Companies to Work For list, reflecting its focus on putting employees first and fostering a culture where every team member can thrive and contribute meaningfully. The company emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and the personal and professional growth of its workforce.
As a Bakery department coordinator at Wegmans, you will play an integral role in delivering a memorable customer experience by ensuring the bakery department runs smoothly and efficiently. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about food, customer service, and working in a dynamic, fast-paced retail environment. The Bakery department coordinator acts as a key team player working across various bakery areas, partnering with bakers, customer service associates, and management to maintain a fresh, attractive, and well-stocked bakery department.
In this role, you will be responsible for knowing the product offerings inside and out, from breads and cakes to pastries and specialty desserts. You will maintain the department’s overall appearance, keeping it clean, organized, and visually enticing by using innovative merchandising displays that draw customers in. You'll keep product levels well-stocked, taking seasonal trends, holidays, and weather effects into account to optimize sales and reduce waste. Your proactive customer approach will involve assisting shoppers in locating products, offering suggestions for meal solutions, and answering their product-related inquiries to enhance their shopping experience.
The Bakery coordinator will also ensure product quality by understanding what bakery goods look and smell like at their peak. Utilizing production guides, recipes, and core techniques, you will help deliver consistent and high-quality fresh bakery items daily. A critical part of your role will include assisting in inventory management and ordering processes, using order guides to help control inventory levels and limit shrink.
Wegmans offers competitive pay and a comprehensive benefits package that includes paid time off, premium pay for overtime and holiday work, health care coverage, a retirement plan with a 401(k) match, and an employee scholarship program. The company is committed to supporting its employees' emotional, work-life, and financial wellness through programs like LiveWell. Joining Wegmans means becoming part of a team that values every individual and works together towards shared goals, creating a rewarding and meaningful career experience.
This full-time position is perfect for motivated individuals looking to build a career in retail bakery management or customer service within a supportive and mission-driven company. With Wegmans' strong emphasis on people-first culture and ongoing employee development, the Bakery department coordinator role not only offers a chance to work in an engaging and fast-paced environment but also provides opportunities for growth and long-term success.
