Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- 1-2 years grocery retail experience in food service preferred
- Knowledge of health department guidelines
- Ability to work varied hours
- Basic math skills
- Ability to use food service equipment
- Ability to maintain customer service at all times
- Physical ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally
- Flexibility to adapt to a fast-paced environment
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency degree
- Preferred 1-2 years grocery retail experience in food service department processes and procedures
- Previous experience in natural foods industry is a plus
- Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize
- Familiarity with health department guidelines and regulations
- Basic math skills including weights and measures
- Experience working with food service equipment such as slicers and ovens
- Ability to work varied hours and maintain a high level of customer service
- Capability to lead, support, and contribute to team goals
Job Duties
- Ensures cleanliness of deli/bakery cases, storage area, and work area for safety
- Stocks deli/bakery cases including product presentation, facing, filling, and organization
- Examines product rotation and discards expired or spoiled items
- Responds to customer inquiries and assists with purchases and product selection including selling and cross-selling
- Receives, inspects, and logs products for shipment accuracy and quality
- Monitors point of purchase signs and promotional materials
- Operates equipment such as knives, scales, and pallet jacks
- Prepares various deli/bakery items using proper ingredients and cooking times
- Participates in pre-inventory preparation
- Maintains high levels of product knowledge and preparation
- Conducts regular walks to ensure cleanliness and organization
- Performs other duties as assigned
