The Bakersfield Condors are currently seeking a part-time In-Game Host, a dynamic and enthusiastic individual who will serve as the on-screen personality for contest and promotional activities during home games at Dignity Health Arena. Reporting to the Coordinator of Event Operations and Retail, the In-Game Host is a key component in creating a lively and exciting atmosphere for all attendees. This role requires an individual with a fun and engaging personality, excellent verbal and interpersonal communication skills, and the ability to captivate an audience while managing various game entertainment elements.
The In-Game Host is responsible for emceeing and hosting game entertainment activities in alignment with the game script, ensuring that all promotions and contests are effectively communicated to fans. The host must be adept at memorizing scripts but also comfortable improvising when necessary. Additionally, this role involves interacting with the crowd to generate high energy, conducting on-ice interviews during intermissions, and supporting the game presentation staff in executing live event elements including fan engagement, sponsorship activations, mascot interaction, and scripted announcements.
This position requires flexibility in scheduling as the candidate will be expected to work evenings, weekends, and holidays in accordance with the AHL game schedule. The successful candidate will be local to the Bakersfield area, comfortable working in large crowds, and able to stand for extended periods. Knowledge of hockey or previous experience with Condors events is considered an asset but is not mandatory.
