We are currently seeking a skilled Pastry/Baker to join our dynamic team. This is a full-time position that requires individuals with strong communication skills and intermediate baking expertise. The Pastry/Baker will be responsible for managing and executing the production schedule efficiently while ensuring all products meet our exceptional quality criteria. Having 1-2 years of professional baking or cooking experience is essential, along with a good working knowledge of ingredients, cooking procedures, and kitchen best practices.
The role involves setting up the work station promptly, preparing top-quality food with appealing presentations, and maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the shift. The Pastry/Baker will be expected to take ownership of their station by proactively addressing any issues that arise. Key responsibilities also include thorough knowledge of all prep and menu items, ensuring all display and catering orders are completed punctually, and supporting the overall kitchen environment by assisting colleagues when necessary.
Additionally, the role demands meticulous cleaning routines at the end of every shift. This includes scrubbing and sanitizing all surfaces and equipment, properly disposing of waste, and maintaining an organized workspace. The Pastry/Baker will also participate in weekly deep cleaning projects and scheduled maintenance tasks such as cleaning floor drains. Communication with management regarding prep and ordering needs is critical to maintain smooth operations and ensure ingredient availability.

Job Requirements
- 1-2 years professional baking or cooking experience
- Intermediate baking skills

Job Duties
- Set up work area in a timely manner and taste to ensure quality of mise en place
- Take ownership of station and actively fix problems
- Have thorough knowledge of all prep and menu items
- Ensure all items are produced and stocked for display before business hours
- Complete catering and wholesale orders by agreed pick-up time
- Maintain cleanliness around the kitchen including no herb trails or spilled messes
- Assist with dish station pile-ups if steward is not on duty
- Work service with attention to detail, cleanliness, and promptness
- Clean station thoroughly at end of shift including scrubbing surfaces and equipment
- Fill out accurate prep lists
- Communicate prep and ordering needs to management promptly
- Perform cross-training and other tasks as directed
- Train new colleagues
- Participate in weekly deep cleaning projects
- Conduct scheduled maintenance and cleaning of floor drains
- Perform all other duties assigned by leadership
