Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent vocational training certificate
- certification of culinary training or apprenticeship preferred
- food handling certificate
- minimum 1-2 years experience as Pastry Cook in hotels with similar style and standards
- good working knowledge of English language
- ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measurement
- ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions
- ability to work cohesively with co-workers
- basic computer skills
- ability to lift and/or move up to 30 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally
Job Qualifications

- adequate pastry skills and operations knowledge
- ability to plan and prepare for restaurant, catering, and special events

- ability to communicate effectively with guests, coworkers, and management
- basic computer skills
- ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
- ability to work cohesively as part of a team
- basic mathematical skills
Job Duties
- Maintain complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment
- use equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely
- maintain and strictly abide by state sanitation and health regulations and hotel requirements
- meet with the Pastry or Executive Chef to review assignments and business levels
- complete opening duties including inspecting cleanliness and equipment condition, checking production schedules, and establishing daily priorities
- prepare all menu items following recipes and departmental standards
- inform the Pastry or Executive Chef of supply needs and foreseeable shortages
- communicate with Food & Beverage service staff regarding menu specials and unavailable items
- maintain proper storage procedures
- minimize waste and maintain controls to meet forecasted food cost
