This role as a Baker plays an essential part within the Food Services team. At Aramark, an entry in the baking department is more than just preparing food; it is about creating mouth-watering baked goods following standardized recipes and using professional-grade equipment. The position involves the preparation of a variety of foods and baked items with precision and care, ensuring adherence to safety and production guidelines. The position requires handling multiple kitchen tasks such as operating ovens, mixers, and other food preparation equipment, measuring and mixing ingredients, and maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience as a baker or in food preparation preferred
- Ability to follow standardized recipes and production guidelines
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, pushing, pulling, and extended walking or standing
- Willingness to wear uniforms and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Job Qualifications
- Previous experience as a baker or in a related role preferred
- Proven knowledge of baking methods, standards, and food safety regulations such as proper food handling, sanitation, and storage
- Required to obtain food safety certification(s)
- Demonstrates basic math and counting skills
- Demonstrates interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal
Job Duties
- Bakes and prepares a variety of food according to production guidelines and standardized recipes
- Sets up workstation with all needed ingredients and equipment
- Prepares ingredients by measuring, weighing, mixing, chopping, etc.
- Operates equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, etc.
- Safely uses a variety of utensils including knives
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Cleans and sanitizes work areas, equipment, and utensils
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guests, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including proper food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets
