This job opportunity is with a reputable bakery department known for delivering excellent guest service and high-quality baked products. The bakery department operates as part of a larger retail environment that values customer satisfaction and efficient service. The role centers around a diverse range of bakery department activities including baking, weighing, pricing products, and interacting politely and professionally with customers. This position requires attention to detail to maintain product freshness and quality as well as the ability to perform basic cake decorating upon request. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in all bakery-related areas - including coolers, freezers, preparation, and sales areas - is crucial to uphold health and safety standards.

As a team member, you will play an important role in communication between guests and management, ensuring guest requests and concerns are relayed properly. You will also communicate any issues with storage temperatures or equipment to your supervisors to prevent loss or spoilage of products. Furthermore, the role includes responsibilities for maintaining an organized and tidy supply area to ensure smooth department operations. The position also involves assisting in receiving and storing bakery products and performing some front-end duties to minimize customer wait times and enhance the overall shopping experience.

This is a dynamic and hands-on position that requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift products weighing up to 25 pounds consistently and occasionally up to 50 pounds, as well as the ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods. Excellent communication skills and a customer-oriented mindset are vital for success. Additional responsibilities include announcing specials and sales on the public address system to help drive sales and inform customers efficiently. Job Duties

  • Provide polite, friendly greetings and interactions with all guests
  • Prepare product for sale including baking, weighing, and pricing
  • Maintain product level, quality, and freshness
  • Perform clerk functions of cake decorating when requested
  • Maintain sanitation standards in the cooler, freezer, prep area, and sales area
  • Communicate guest requests to management
  • Communicate temperature breakdowns to supervisor
  • Keep supply area neat, clean, and tidy at all times
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management
  • Perform front end duties to ensure a no noticeable wait standard
  • Announce specials and sale info on the PA system
  • Assist in product receiving and storage
