Press Cafe is an inviting bistro located within the Sewell-Lincoln Dealership at the Parks Legado Town Center. As a new addition to this vibrant community, Press Cafe offers a unique dining experience that combines quality, creativity, and a welcoming atmosphere. The role of Baker at Press Cafe is essential in bringing the cafe’s culinary vision to life. The Baker will be responsible for preparing the café’s distinctive offerings according to standard recipes, ensuring consistent quality and presentation that impresses guests from the moment they experience the meal. This position requires an individual with food service experience who is dedicated to producing baked goods and meals that meet specific portion sizes, cooking times, and presentation guidelines. The Baker must maintain a sanitized and organized workspace at all times, practicing exceptional food safety and hygiene standards to protect the integrity of the products and the health of customers.

This full-time role operates from Monday through Saturday, 8 am to 6 pm, offering a consistent schedule that enables the baker to focus on quality and efficiency. The role involves various kitchen duties including food preparation, baking, storage, rotation of inventory, and maintaining cleanliness throughout the shift. The Baker will also support the team by assisting in food prep during off-peak periods and helping to close down the operation after hours. Strong organizational skills and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment are critical for success in this role. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, committed to continuous improvement, and capable of working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Adherence to health certifications such as food handler and TABC certification is required, ensuring compliance with all food safety regulations.

Job Duties

  • Complete all shift duties and closing duties
  • Handle, store and rotate items properly
  • Assist in food prep assignments during off-peak periods or as needed
  • Maintain a clean station and work area throughout day
  • Follow recipes exact instructions ensuring quality, portion size, cooking time and consistency
  • Be a team player supporting and assisting fellow team members
  • Cook and bake only sufficient food in advance to cover expected business volume and maintain quality
