This role is essential for the smooth operation and success of our bakery department. As a baking team member, you will be responsible for preparing, baking, and finishing a variety of baked goods according to standard recipes. Your expertise will contribute to producing high-quality desserts for both restaurant service and banquet events, ensuring each item meets our quality standards. You will be required to follow production sheets carefully to prepare goods in the appropriate quantities and coordinate with pantry and storage to requisition necessary items upon approval by the pastry/bakery chef. Maintaining cleanliness, organization, and sanitation of your work station is critical, following all food safety protocols rigorously. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills, and the ability to follow instructions accurately under shifting priorities. You will also demonstrate professional conduct, initiative, problem-solving skills, and effective communication with team members and management. Flexibility to work various shifts, including holidays and weekends, is expected to meet operational demands. Ultimately, this position plays a vital role in ensuring our bakery's ability to deliver consistently excellent products that satisfy our customers' expectations.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 months bakery experience or relevant education
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Servsafe certification
  • Ability to stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds consistently
  • Ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull up to 60 pounds
  • Ability to perform repetitive use of hands and feet
  • Ability to use vision abilities including distance, depth perception, field of vision, and color vision
  • Flexible to work various shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must be at least 18 years old

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 6 months bakery experience or equivalent combination of education, training, or experience
  • Servsafe certification
  • Ability to comprehend and follow supervisor's instructions
  • Skills including coordination, analyzing, precision working, following instructions, memorization, problem solving, independent judgment, and decision making
  • Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance
  • Ability to work with interruptions
  • Flexible to work all shifts including holidays, nights, and weekends
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Prepare, bake, and finish cakes, pies, French pastry, cream tarts, and other dessert/baked items according to the standard recipe
  • Prepare dessert and baked goods for restaurants and banquets as per production sheets
  • Prepare requisition for items for storeroom and pastry/bakery chef approval
  • Maintain clean and sanitary work stations within Servsafe and GSR guidelines
  • Follow directions and recipes as dictated by bakery management
  • Demonstrate performance expectations with communication, initiative, problem solving, guest service, work habits, and professional conduct
  • Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of this position
