The full-time Baker position at ESS Support Services Mining Camps, located at 201 Post Road, Anchorage, AK, offers an exciting opportunity to join a committed team delivering quality baked goods in a high-volume setting. The successful candidate will prepare breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries according to precise recipes and production schedules. This role demands a strong understanding of food safety standards, sanitation procedures, portion control, and presentation to ensure all products meet the highest quality benchmarks. Additionally, the Baker plays an integral part in production planning and tracking, ensuring inventory levels meet daily production needs and documenting product usage accurately. Interaction with customers and responding to feedback is valued to maintain excellent customer service standards. Candidates must show the ability to maintain composure and efficiency during peak production periods. The position requires a Food Worker Card and demonstrated baking experience. The pay range is between $20.00 to $23.00 per hour, with schedules typically varying with day shifts and other details provided upon interview. Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • Assist with the completion of production records including waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • Inform supervisor when supplies are low
  • Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
  • Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris
  • Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
  • Relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
  • Consistently exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • Check to ensure that all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
  • Complete shift work as assigned in a timely and thorough manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
