Job Requirements

  • At least 1 year of prior baking experience preferred
  • Ability to work AM or PM shifts varying based on operational needs
  • Must be able to follow recipes and production specifications accurately
  • Ability to maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards
  • Ability to interact positively with customers and team members
  • Must comply with all corporate and OSHA safety regulations
  • Must be able to handle physically demanding tasks typical of baking jobs
  • Ability to use proper baking equipment safely
  • Willingness to work full-time or part-time
  • Reliable transportation to Louisiana State University location

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum 1 year of prior baking experience preferred
  • Knowledge of baking techniques and food safety standards

Job Duties

  • Bake breads, pies, cakes, cookies and other pastries as necessary per the provided production and catering sheets
  • Assist in production planning to meet daily requirements
  • Ensure proper food preparation by utilizing approved recipes, following prescribed production standards and use of proper equipment
  • Assist with the completion of production records to include waste tracking, used/unused portions and product shortages
  • Inform supervisor when supplies are low
  • Ensure proper presentation, food quality, portion control and maintenance of proper serving temperatures
  • Maintain sanitation and orderliness of all equipment, supplies and utensils within work area
  • Handle food items appropriately and with all safety regulations in mind during preparation and service
  • Clean equipment and workstation thoroughly before leaving the area
  • Keep display equipment clean and free of debris
  • Interact with customers and resolve customer complaints in a friendly and customer-service oriented manner
  • Relay relevant concerns from customers directly to supervisors
  • Consistently exhibit the ability to keep up with peak production and service calmly, accurately and efficiently
  • Check to ensure all food is presented, served and displayed per standards
  • Follow principles of sanitation and safety in handling food and equipment, ensuring corporate and OSHA safety standards are followed
  • Complete shift work as assigned in a timely and thorough manner
  • Perform other duties as assigned
