Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience in a bakery or food service environment is an advantage
- Ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions accurately
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Capability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment
- Basic knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
- Ability to operate and maintain bakery equipment safely
- Comfort with using digital tools and handheld technology
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and multitask
- Positive attitude and problem-solving skills.
Job Duties
- Collaborate with other associates to build a strong bakery team
- Communicate effectively with team members
- Be flexible to the needs of the business and work in other areas as required
- Prepare bakery merchandise based on daily production needs by operating baking equipment
- Follow recipes and instructions for baking and packaging
- Wrap, label, and store bakery items according to company policies
- Ensure compliance with food safety standards, sanitation guidelines, and inventory management
- Operate, maintain, and sanitize bakery equipment
- Use handheld technology to make business decisions related to production, ordering, training, and product quality
- Maintain work area cleanliness and organization
- Ensure quality and date control standards for bakery items
- Secure fragile and high-shrink merchandise
- Assist members with purchasing decisions
- Advocate for the department by valuing member experience and modeling high-quality service and products
- Comply with company policies, procedures, and ethical standards
- Complete work assignments by collaborating with managers, coworkers, and customers
- Identify priorities and deadlines
- Communicate progress and recommend improvements
- Adapt to change and feedback.
