Job Description

Festival Foods is a well-established Wisconsin-based grocer dedicated to serving its communities with exceptional service and value. Operating over 40 full-service supermarkets across the state, Festival Foods has built a reputation for prioritizing people—both guests and associates alike. This commitment is evident not only in the daily interactions between team members and customers but also through the extensive benefits and programs designed to support associates' welfare and growth. As a community-centered business, Festival Foods takes pride in contributing positively to the areas it serves while maintaining a welcoming and collaborative work environment.

We are currently seeking a passionate Baker to join our bakery team at Festival Foods. In this part-time role, you will report directly to the Bakery Department Manager. The baker plays a vital role in creating memorable food experiences, crafting high-quality baked goods and pastries that enhance special occasions and everyday indulgences. Beyond the technical skills of baking, this position requires a strong focus on exceptional guest service. Whether assisting customers with special orders, answering questions, or addressing concerns, your role will be crucial in ensuring every guest interaction reflects professionalism and care. This position offers a flexible work schedule with shifts that may include early mornings, afternoons, weekends, holidays, and occasional evening or overnight hours.

As a baker at Festival Foods, your responsibilities will include following recipes and production plans precisely to maintain top-quality bakery products. You'll monitor product freshness, handle outdated items according to established procedures, and diligently report shrinkage to minimize waste. Adhering to health and safety standards is paramount, including compliance with Health Department guidelines and Festival's sanitation practices. You'll maintain orderly and clean working areas such as prep spaces, coolers, freezers, and storage locations.

This role also entails active stock monitoring to ensure that bakery items are well-assorted and adequately produced to meet customer demand. Maintaining food safety logs and meeting exacting quality standards at specified daily checkpoints is essential to uphold Festival Foods' commitment to food safety and quality. Collaboration within the bakery team is encouraged, supporting a positive work environment and shared success. Regular attendance and punctuality are important, with expectations for timely communication to cover any absences.

Working in this position requires physical stamina, including frequent standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting up to 60 pounds regularly. There will be exposure to varying temperatures and moving machinery, making safety awareness and adherence to company protocols critical. Your ability to navigate a fast-paced retail food environment, demonstrate effective problem-solving skills, and focus on customer satisfaction will contribute significantly to your success.

By joining the Festival Foods bakery team, you become part of an organization that values teamwork, quality, and personal development. We offer competitive compensation, industry-leading associate discounts, and comprehensive benefits designed to support your overall well-being and future planning. If you are enthusiastic about baking and delivering exceptional food experiences, we invite you to apply and help us continue creating delightful bakery products for our guests.
