We are currently hiring for a full-time Baker position at Florida Polytechnic University located at 4700 Research Way, Lakeland, FL 33805. This role is integral to maintaining the high standards of food quality and customer service associated with Chartwells Higher Ed on campus. The baker will work Monday through Friday with hours that may vary, details of which will be provided during the interview process. The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00, reflecting competitive compensation in the food service industry.

The Baker is responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods including breads, pies, cakes, cookies, and other pastries, following specific recipes and production specifications to meet daily operational needs. This role involves assistance in production planning to fulfill catering and daily production requirements efficiently. Maintaining strict adherence to approved recipes, using proper baking equipment, and ensuring food quality and presentation are critical components of the job.

Additionally, the baker helps in tracking production records such as waste, product usage, and shortages, reporting inventory needs to supervisors. Exceptional attention to sanitation, food safety, and orderliness within the work area is mandatory, ensuring compliance with all OSHA and corporate safety standards. The role demands the ability to handle peak production periods calmly and efficiently while maintaining excellent customer service and communication skills. Customer interaction is part of the job, requiring friendly resolution of customer concerns and relaying feedback to supervisory staff.
