With a focus on patient-centered services and innovative health solutions, the hospital plays a pivotal role in promoting wellness and recovery for its diverse patient population. It operates with a mission to enhance the health and well-being of the people and communities it serves through integrated care, sound clinical practices, and continuous improvement. Intermountain Health is known for fostering an inclusive and supportive work environment that values collaboration and professional growth. It is an equal opportunity employer committed to diversity and fairness in all its hiring practices.

The role offered is a full-time Food Production position at St George Regional Hospital, designed for individuals who are passionate about culinary arts and food service within a healthcare setting. This role requires performing a variety of food production duties under general supervision with a focus on quality, safety, and efficiency in food preparation. The working schedule is 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 1:30 pm to 10 pm, with occasional weekend coverage including rotating Sunday work, meeting the dynamic needs of the hospital's food services. The pay rate for this position is competitive, ranging from $19.31 to $25.11 per hour based on experience, reflecting the importance of culinary expertise in healthcare operations.

Key responsibilities include preparing and cooking food according to recipes and instructions, serving customers in various venues such as catering, retail outlets, or patient care, and maintaining a sanitary and organized work environment. The role also involves preparing bulk food items, managing production quantities with proper rotation, and interacting effectively with customers. Additional duties may include delivering patient meals, cashiering, stocking, and handling both automatic and manual ware-washing machines. The position demands a high level of food handling skill, food safety knowledge, and the ability to follow detailed recipes and instructions precisely.

Candidates must hold a Food Handler Permit or ServSafe certification by the first day of work and preferably have one or more years of experience as a baker in a hospital or retail environment. Strong communication skills in English, both verbal and written, are essential, along with the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Safe food handling techniques and the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines are crucial for success in this role. While previous experience with modified diets and commercial cooking equipment is preferred, it is not mandatory, allowing for on-the-job training and growth.

The physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods, lift and move equipment, and tolerate varying temperature conditions such as working near grills or in refrigerated areas. Manual dexterity is necessary for handling cooking tools and equipment safely and efficiently. The hospital provides a supportive environment that prioritizes the well-being of its workforce, offering benefits such as medical, dental, vision insurance, and education assistance, underscoring their commitment to employee health and professional development.

Joining Intermountain Health St George Regional Hospital means becoming part of a dedicated healthcare team that values your culinary talents and contribution to patient care. This is an excellent opportunity to engage in a meaningful career that combines food service expertise with the rewarding challenge of supporting patient nutrition and satisfaction in a hospital setting. The hospital provides ongoing learning opportunities and a collaborative culture that encourages both personal and professional growth, making it a desirable workplace for culinary professionals seeking stability, respect, and growth within the healthcare field.
