Job Duties

  • Provides prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by exhibiting caring, concern and patience in all customer interactions and treating customers as the most important people in the store
  • smiles and greets customers in a friendly manner, whether the encounter takes place in the employee's designated department or elsewhere in the store
  • makes an effort to learn customers’ names and to address them by name whenever possible
  • assists customers by escorting them to products, securing products out of reach, loading or unloading heavy items, making note of customer suggestions or requests, enhancing the shopping experience
  • answers the telephone promptly and provides friendly, helpful service including taking product orders
  • checks orders for the day and sets up a timeline and production schedule
  • prepares make up, bakes, and fries all department products as needed
  • reviews the status and appearance of products for freshness and pulls by stale date
  • invoices and puts away product as instructed by the department manager
  • anticipates product needs for current and subsequent days
  • inspects incoming product quality and quantity
  • understands use and maintenance issues of bakery equipment
  • checks signage for correct labels on ad items
  • reviews department for potential safety issues
  • operates as a lead with bakery clerks
  • prioritizes orders as per customer and manager requests
