In addition to technical baking skills, the Baker will also engage directly with customers, providing meaningful assistance based on their needs and helping create a memorable shopping experience. The role requires an individual who can safely handle ingredients and equipment, including lifting up to 50 pounds, and the ability to maintain cleanliness and organization in the bakery area, including equipment and utensils. The Baker will play a key role in ensuring products are fresh by properly rotating stock, monitoring code dates, and using storage tools such as proof boxes and freezers efficiently. In addition, the Baker will be responsible for managing special customer orders, demonstrating knowledge of ingredients, and actively participating in suggestive selling and sampling to boost customer satisfaction and sales. The position is suited for candidates aged 18 and over, who have completed a job-specific skills assessment or have some relevant experience in a bakery or related industry. While no high school diploma is required, prior experience is preferred to perform the role with confidence and skill.
