The role of Baker is a pivotal position within the bakery and dessert café segment of the restaurant. Bakers at Golden Corral carry the important responsibility of preparing a wide variety of baked goods including yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts, and other freshly made items that contribute to the overall buffet menu. This role demands an energetic, friendly individual who pays meticulous attention to product freshness, visual appeal, taste, and portion control while meeting the speed and organization demands of a high-volume environment. The baker must maintain strict adherence to local health department laws and Golden Corral production standards to ensure every product served is of the highest quality and meets safety requirements.

Throughout the shift, the baker will use the established buffet production system to maintain product quality and shelf life compliance. In addition to daily baking, this role includes preparing breakfast bakery items on weekends to meet increased production needs. The baker also plays a vital part in guest service, ensuring a courteous interaction with diners and efficient replenishment of baked goods to maintain a just-in-time delivery approach. Cleanliness is a key focus, with baker duties including following a duty roster, maintaining service standards, and ensuring all areas of the bakery comply with health and safety guidelines.

Job Duties

  • Prepares hand-made yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts and other baked items

  • Ensures that every product in the bakery is always fresh, tasty, visually appealing and hot when appropriate
  • Maintains quality by preparing all products following Golden Corral recipes and standards
  • Maintains proper portioning and recipe yields
