The role of Baker at Guest Services offers an exciting opportunity for culinary professionals passionate about baking and creating delicious baked goods. This position involves preparing, mixing, and baking a variety of food items including breads, cakes, pastries, and other baked products that delight customers. The Baker plays a crucial role in ensuring that all baked items meet the highest standards of quality, presentation, and flavor. Responsibilities extend beyond baking to include preparing pie fillings, decorating baked goods, and managing dough shaping and cutting. The Baker is also responsible for maintaining cleanliness and operational functionality of kitchen equipment and work areas, ensuring strict adherence to food safety and sanitation standards. Operating the food station effectively by following checklists, logging temperatures, attending counter meetings, and managing appropriate signage is vital to the function of the role.
Furthermore, the Baker requisitions kitchen supplies and equipment based on anticipated needs, and closely monitors menu offerings and budget to ensure meals are prepared economically. The role demands a keen awareness of safety and hygiene protocols and immediate communication of any concerns to management. It requires physical stamina, the ability to handle weight and movement demands such as lifting, bending, standing for extended periods, and working in varying temperature environments like freezers and refrigerators. Strong communication skills and customer service orientation are essential, with the Baker regularly interacting with customers and team members in a fast-paced kitchen environment. This hourly role offers a competitive wage of $19.00 per hour and presents an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to develop or further their career in the culinary and hospitality industry within a respected and inclusive company that values diversity and professional growth.
