Job Description
Our establishment is Polly's, a bakery with a reputation for delivering high-quality baked goods and exceptional customer service. Polly's is known for maintaining a fresh, friendly, and above-and-beyond approach to its products and customer interactions. As a bakery, Polly's maintains the integrity of its brand by offering products made with care and craftsmanship, ensuring that every item meets the standards expected by its loyal customers. Polly's is an environment that values passion, pride, and dedication to the art of baking, sourcing fresh ingredients, and preparing every item with precision and skill to consistently meet customer expectations for freshness and quality.
The role of a baker at Polly's is central to the success and continued excellence of the bakery. Bakers are responsible for preparing a variety of baked goods including bread, rolls, muffins, cookies, quiches, cinnamon rolls, and seasonal fruit toppings for pies. They must master established recipes and production methods to ensure consistent product quality. This role requires hands-on experience with baking equipment such as ovens and mixers, along with strong organizational skills to manage inventory and production workflows effectively.
Bakers also play a key role in maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bake area to comply with health and safety guidelines. They are responsible for ensuring storage areas are organized, ingredients and prepared items are properly labeled, and inventory is rotated to maintain freshness. Bakers at Polly's collaborate with coaching staff to communicate production counts and any issues related to food quality, inventory, or equipment.
In addition to technical baking skills, this position demands flexibility, including working various shifts such as mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. The baker must be able to work independently, demonstrate leadership qualities, and be proactive in addressing any operational challenges. Cross-training in other kitchen functions may be required, providing an opportunity to expand skills and contribute to overall kitchen operations.
Polly's offers an inviting work environment where team members are encouraged to take pride in their craftsmanship and contribute to a brand that values exceptional service and quality. Working at Polly's offers the opportunity to develop and refine baking skills in a friendly and supportive setting. The company prioritizes food safety and quality, making it an ideal workplace for bakers who are passionate about their craft and committed to upholding the bakery's standards.
