As a bakery professional at Corner Cafe, you will be joining a team dedicated to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction. Bakers at Corner Cafe leverage their expertise in food preparation and ingredient knowledge to craft a variety of delicious baked goods, including cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, pies, and desserts. The role requires precision in measuring and mixing raw ingredients to produce high-quality items. You will be responsible for decorating and presenting baked goods attractively, adhering to food safety and quality standards, and maintaining adequate inventory through proper storage and handling.

The position allows for creativity in baking, with emphasis on expert use of equipment such as mixing machines and ovens. Timing and control settings are crucial to producing consistent products. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation of all baking equipment and work areas forms an essential part of the job. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous baking experience preferred
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately
  • Good physical stamina and manual dexterity
  • Availability to work early mornings or flexible shifts
  • Strong commitment to food safety and cleanliness
  • Good communication and teamwork skills

Job Qualifications

  • Experience baking a variety of goods including rolls, pies, and desserts
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Ability to measure ingredients accurately
  • Skilled in using pastry bags and decorating techniques
  • Familiarity with baking equipment such as mixers, ovens, and proofers
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment

Job Duties

  • Prepares, produces, and bakes cinnamon rolls, dinner rolls, pies and desserts
  • Decorates baked goods, such as cream pies, using a pastry bag
  • Sets time and speed controls for mixing machines, so that ingredients will be mixed or cooked according to instructions
  • Measures or weighs flour or other ingredients to prepare batters, doughs, fillings, or whipped cream, using scales or graduated containers
  • Maintains adequate supply of all prepared products on hand and ensures the proper storage and refrigeration
  • Keeps spoilage/waste to a minimum by utilizing proper quantities and rotating products
  • Cleans, breaks down, and puts away all baking equipment including ovens, mixers, proofer, floors, freezer, and refrigerators
