The role of a Baker at Levy's Camp Randall Stadium and Kohl Center Arena is an exciting opportunity for individuals passionate about baking and food service in a fast-paced and vibrant environment. This full-time position offers a competitive pay range of $18 to $22 per hour, reflecting the importance of skilled bakers in delivering delicious baked goods to fans and guests. As a Baker, you will be responsible for preparing baked items that meet Levy’s high standards for quality, taste, and presentation. The role is not only about baking but also about maintaining safety and cleanliness standards compliant with federal, state, and corporate guidelines. Bakers work closely with the kitchen team to ensure the smooth operation of food preparation for sporting events and other large-scale gatherings.

Your day-to-day work involves following standardized recipes and production schedules, portioning and presenting baked goods attractively, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, organizing food storage, operating kitchen equipment, and adhering strictly to safety regulations. This role requires collaboration with coworkers and management to ensure seamless kitchen operations and guest satisfaction. Bakers at Levy are expected to demonstrate a positive attitude, physical stamina, and the ability to work flexible shifts including early mornings and weekends, particularly during UW-Madison Football games and events at the Kohl Center Arena. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous baking experience in a professional kitchen
  • Willingness to obtain ServSafe Food Handler Certification
  • Ability to complete Alcohol Safety Certification
  • Physical ability to lift 20-50 lbs and stand for extended periods
  • Availability to work early morning and weekend shifts
  • Must be able to work major sporting events, including UW-Madison Football games

Job Qualifications

  • Previous baking experience in a professional environment with a solid understanding of food preparation, presentation, and kitchen operations
  • Must have or be willing to complete ServSafe Food Handler Certification and Alcohol Safety Certification
  • A friendly, team-oriented approach to working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to lift 20-50 lbs and remain on feet for long hours during events
  • Must be able to work all UW-Madison Football games and a majority of events at the Kohl Center Arena
  • Ability to work first and/or second shifts beginning at 4am and 12pm, including one weekend day

Job Duties

  • Prepare high-quality food items following standardized recipes and instructions, meeting production and service schedules
  • Serve or prepare baked goods for transportation, ensuring the correct portion sizes, optimal temperatures, and appealing presentation
  • Clean kitchen areas after food preparation and service, maintaining high cleanliness standards and adhering to safe food-handling procedures
  • Keep refrigerators and storerooms organized and ensure that all food and supplies are stored according to safety standards
  • Operate and maintain kitchen equipment according to established procedures and report any issues or accidents to the supervisor immediately
  • Attend in-service and safety meetings to stay up-to-date with food safety regulations and best practices
  • Work effectively with coworkers, managers, and administrators to maintain smooth kitchen operations and deliver quality food service
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure the success of food service during events
