The Baker position at Lipscomb University is a full-time employment opportunity with a pay range of $17 to $20 per hour. The schedule includes varying shifts, days, hours, and rotating weekends, with further details provided during the interview process. This role is ideal for individuals passionate about baking and food preparation who thrive in dynamic work environments. As a Baker, you will prepare a range of baked goods such as breads, rolls, muffins, biscuits, cakes, and pastries from scratch according to exclusive Sodexo recipes and culinary standards. Ensuring that each product meets the highest standards in taste, quality, and presentation is crucial for guest satisfaction.
This position involves managing daily production schedules, accurately measuring ingredients, mixing doughs and batters, regulating oven temperatures, and monitoring baking times to achieve perfect results. The Baker will also be responsible for setting up and stocking the bake shop, maintaining proper storage and rotation of baking items, and keeping the bakery organized and clean. Attention to detail is paramount, particularly when accommodating special dietary requests or ensuring that all baked goods leaving the kitchen meet Sodexo's quality criteria.
The role requires physical stamina, including extensive walking or standing, the ability to use hands for handling materials, and the capacity to lift and move weights up to 50 pounds. The position demands punctuality, reliability, and the ability to adapt to changing client requirements and business needs, as duties may vary depending on the account.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 1 years of related work experience
- Experience in a specialized bakery or pastry role preferred
- Ability to walk or stand for extended periods during shifts
- Ability to lift up to 35 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally
- Ability to use hands to finger handle feel reach taste or smell
- Must attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma GED or equivalent experience
- 0 to 1 years of related work experience
- Experience in a specialized bakery or pastry role preferred
Job Duties
- Check daily production schedules and follow Sodexo recipes to prepare a variety of baked items from scratch such as breads rolls muffins biscuits cakes and pastries
- Accurately weigh and measure ingredients mix doughs and batters by hand or mixer shape and cut dough and bake items to perfection
- Regulate oven temperatures monitor baking times and ensure products are prepared held and served at correct temperatures
- Set up and stock the bake shop area maintain proper storage rotation labeling and dating of all products and keep the bakery clean and organized
- Pay close attention to detail accommodate special requests and ensure only high-quality baked items leave the kitchen
- Attend work and show for scheduled shifts on time with satisfactory regularity
- Perform other duties as assigned based on business necessities and client requirements
