Guest Services, Inc. is a renowned hospitality management company with a rich history dating back to 1917. As a premier National Park Service concessionaire and a recognized leader in the hospitality industry within the United States, the company is committed to delivering exceptional guest experiences across a diverse range of client sites. These sites include luxury communities, hotels, resorts, government and business dining facilities, restaurants, state and national parks, outdoor recreation venues, boathouses, marinas, museums, conference centers, senior living communities, health care systems, as well as school and university dining facilities and specialty retail stores. With a focus on best-in-class services and a strong commitment to quality, Guest Services prides itself on its legacy of excellence and dedication to customer satisfaction.
Guest Services, Inc. upholds a steadfast commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). The company values the richness that DEI brings to the workplace and strives to create an environment where all employees can bring their authentic selves to work. This commitment enhances the company's ability to serve its diverse customer base effectively while fostering a respectful and inclusive workplace culture. Guest Services is an Equal Opportunity employer, ensuring all qualified applicants have equal access to employment and promotion opportunities regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or protected veteran status.
The Baker role at Guest Services is an integral part of the culinary operations at various client sites. This position involves preparing, mixing, and baking ingredients to produce a wide variety of baked food items essential to the unit's offerings. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately measuring and mixing ingredients according to standardized recipes, preparing fruit fillings, baking and decorating cakes, pastries, breads, and other baked goods, as well as rolling, cutting, and shaping dough to create rolls, pie crusts, tarts, cookies, and related products.
In addition to baking responsibilities, the Baker will maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards by cleaning and inspecting kitchen equipment, appliances, and work areas to ensure functional operation and safety compliance. Operating the food station is another key responsibility, which includes completing station checklists, temperature logs, and maintaining proper signage to comply with health regulations.
The role also involves requisitioning food supplies and kitchen equipment based on future needs estimates, monitoring menu items and spending to prepare meals economically, and maintaining safety awareness by promptly reporting issues to management. Physical demands of the job require the Baker to frequently move around the unit, lift and carry moderate weights, stand for extended periods, work in varying temperatures including freezer and grill areas, and communicate effectively in English with coworkers and customers in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
This hourly role offers a competitive wage of $19.00 per hour and demands a strong culinary knowledge background and food safety certification. The position is suited for individuals who have a strong customer service orientation, excellent communication skills, and the ability to recognize and address problems proactively. With the opportunity to grow within a reputable company known for quality and diversity, the Baker at Guest Services will contribute directly to the satisfaction of guests and the success of the company’s food service operations.
