The hiring establishment is a professional commissary bakery known for producing high-quality, scratch-made baked goods. The role being offered is that of a Baker who will work under general supervision and be primarily responsible for producing bakery goods in accordance with company policies. This position follows a set schedule from Monday through Wednesday and Friday through Saturday from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM, ensuring early preparation and delivery of fresh bakery items. The ideal candidate must be skilled in preparing dough and scratch baking mixtures and able to produce items at batch scale efficiently. They will be expected to monitor production schedules, manage inventory effectively to avoid overproduction or waste, and develop new product offerings as the bakery expands its menu or meets customer demands.
In addition to baking duties, this role involves interacting with customers by taking bakery orders over the phone and completing order forms accurately. The Baker will also assist in quality control by verifying received goods and ensuring ingredient storage adheres to strict policies to maintain product freshness and safety. The working environment is non-smoking and compliant with health and OSHA regulations, reflecting the bakery's commitment to safety and cleanliness. Bakers will operate a variety of specialized bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, sheeters, dough dividers, and proofers, alongside maintaining these tools and reporting equipment malfunctions promptly.

Job Duties
- Prepares breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, and other pastries, including icings and frostings according to established recipes and ingredient standards at batch scale
- Prepares all dough and scratch baking mixtures following established company procedures and recipes
- Prepares baked goods for special diets as requested
- Ensures that finished product meets high-quality standards
- Follows proper labeling and signage requirements for natural food standards
- Reviews production schedules to determine quantity and variety of products to bake and assembles supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities
- Manages and produces appropriate quantities to avoid over or under producing products
- Develops new products
- Takes bakery orders from customers by phone and completes order forms properly
- Assists in verifying received goods for quality, count, and condition
- Stores and rotates all ingredients or merchandise following company policy and product code dates
- Notifies manager of any maintenance or equipment problems
- Maintains a safe and clean environment to ensure health and OSHA requirements are met
- Performs other duties as assigned
