The Position We are currently seeking skilled and creative Bakers who are passionate about delivering excellent baked goods and exceptional customer service in an efficient and professional manner. As a Baker at Blackberry Market, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our baked items meet the highest standards of quality and taste. The ideal candidate will be organized, decisive, attentive to detail, and possess a strong understanding of baking techniques and kitchen safety.

The role involves hands-on responsibilities including measuring and combining ingredients to create a variety of baked goods such as cookies, muffins, bars, scones, and cupcakes, utilizing mixers, blenders, heat sources, and other kitchen equipment. Additionally, Bakers are involved in decorating and presenting finished products in an appealing manner to enhance the customer's experience.

Quality control is a key aspect of the job; you will be responsible for testing ingredients and finished products to ensure they meet food safety and quality guidelines. Maintaining a clean and organized workstation is essential, including cleaning and restocking supplies and ensuring all equipment is sanitized and ready for the next shift.

Bakers at Blackberry Market also work collaboratively as part of a team to support smooth operations, contribute ideas to improve recipes, and adapt to business needs with flexible availability, including weekends and holidays. Job Requirements

  • At least 1-2 years of professional baking experience
  • Knowledge of health and safety rules in a kitchen
  • Manual dexterity able to operate cutting tools and kitchen utensils
  • Able to lift up to 50 lbs
  • A team player with good communication skills
  • Patient with an ability to stay positive under pressure
  • Very good physical condition and endurance
  • High school diploma or equivalent is desirable
  • Training from a culinary school will be an asset
