This opportunity is with a reputable bakery known for its commitment to quality and craftsmanship in producing a wide range of baked goods. The company operates a scratch bakery that emphasizes quality ingredients and traditional baking methods to deliver fresh products each day to its customers. The role available is a full-time bakery production baker position that operates on a fixed schedule from Monday to Wednesday and Friday to Saturday, from 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM. This position plays a crucial part in the daily operations of the bakery, focusing on preparing baked goods from scratch in a production-oriented setting. The role requires efficiency, attention to detail, and strict adherence to recipes and ingredient standards to maintain the high-quality product expected by the company and its customers. Working under general supervision, the bakery production baker is responsible for preparing all doughs and scratch baking mixtures, managing production schedules, and ensuring proper labeling for all bakery items.
As a bakery production baker, you will also be involved in developing new products, managing inventory and supplies, taking bakery orders from customers accurately, and assisting with quality control by verifying received goods. Operating various bakery equipment such as mixers, ovens, dough dividers, proofers, and bread slicers is a key aspect of this role. The position demands physical stamina to handle activities like lifting up to 60 lbs, bending, standing for extended periods, and operating bakery machinery safely and efficiently.
This position offers a salary range of $16 to $18 per hour, reflecting the skilled nature of the role within the bakery industry. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of two years of bakery experience and a high school education or equivalent, with a culinary degree being strongly desired. Computer skills and the ability to interpret financial information such as profit and loss statements are also valued for this role. Job Duties
- Prepares breads, rolls, muffins, cookies, pies, cakes, biscuits, and other pastries including icings and frostings according to established recipes and ingredient standards at batch scale
- Prepares all dough and scratch baking mixtures following established company procedures and recipes
- Prepares baked goods for special diets as requested
- Ensures that finished product meets high quality standards
- Follows proper labeling and signage requirements for company's natural food standards
- Reviews production schedules to determine quantity and variety of products to bake and assembles supplies and equipment needed for daily baking activities
- Manages and produces appropriate quantities to ensure products are not over or under produced
