We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Baker to join our team. This role is crucial in supporting the nutrition and wellness of our residents by preparing food that is not only palatable and appetizing in appearance but also meets strict dietary and safety standards. Operating within a supportive kitchen team, the Baker will read and follow menus and recipes precisely, ensuring the highest quality in food preparation. The position requires a keen eye for detail, culinary basics, and strong adherence to sanitation and food safety protocols.

The Baker position is a full-time role with working hours from 8:00am to 4:30pm, primarily covering weekend shifts with available differentials. This opportunity is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on food preparation and are committed to creating positive dining experiences in a long-term care setting. Responsibilities include utilizing culinary skills to produce food items, maintaining kitchen equipment safely, minimizing food waste, and sustaining a clean, organized work area. The role also requires compliance with regulatory guidelines and food safety standards to ensure resident safety and satisfaction.

Applicants should have at least one to two years of food preparation experience, preferably in institutional or healthcare settings. A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong interpersonal communication, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment. Collaboration with co-workers and ministry leadership is essential, as is the professionalism to maintain positive working relationships. Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools is also necessary to fulfill job-related documentation and reporting tasks.

Catholic Care Center prioritizes employee health and safety, providing a well-ventilated, climate-controlled workplace with measures in place to protect against exposure to bodily fluids, in compliance with OSHA standards. Employees are expected to use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when necessary.
