This full-time position is ideal for individuals passionate about culinary arts and hospitality, seeking to contribute to JW Marriott's renowned food service standards. As a cook at JW Marriott, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking food in accordance with established recipes, quality and presentation criteria, and food preparation checklists. The role involves careful ingredient preparation, including portioning, chopping, and proper storage of food items. You will use baking and measuring tools safely and appropriately to craft baked goods, ensuring compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene protocols.

The position requires vigilance in monitoring kitchen appliance and food temperatures, promptly reporting any issues to management. Maintaining a clean and sanitized kitchen area, setting up and breaking down workstations, and adhering to sanitation and cleaning procedures are essential components of the daily responsibilities. The cook will also oversee the quality and portion sizes of food served throughout their shift, ensuring consistent adherence to JW Marriott’s high hospitality standards.

Job Duties

  • Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality and presentation standards, and food prep checklists
  • Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food before use
  • Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances to prepare baked foods
  • Follow and ensure compliance with food safety handling policies, procedures, and personal hygiene standards
  • Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting issues to management
  • Wash and disinfect kitchen area, set-up and break-down work station, and follow sanitation and cleaning procedures
  • Monitor food quality and portions served throughout the shift
