This bakery crew member position at Golden Corral offers a unique opportunity to enter the world of baking within a fast-paced, yet supportive environment. If you have a passion for baking and a desire to learn, this role will teach you how to prepare an extensive range of bakery products from scratch. You will be guided through the baking process with provided training guides that help you master recipe following and techniques in the preparation of cookies, cakes, cobblers, pies, bread, biscuits, and more. The role allows for hands-on experience in preparing handmade yeast rolls, specialty desserts, and weekend breakfast bakery items consistent with production needs.

As a bakery crew member, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards by following Golden Corral's recipes and ensuring proper portioning and yield compliance. You will ensure that all bakery products remain fresh, appealing and served hot when appropriate. Customer interaction is key, so providing friendly and courteous service that meets just-in-time delivery demands is also an essential part of the role. Maintaining cleanliness and adhering to all health department regulations are critical to upholding the restaurant's reputation and guest safety.

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous baking experience is an advantage but not required

  • willingness to learn and take instruction
  • basic math skills for measuring ingredients and recipe yields

Job Duties

  • Prepares hand-made yeast rolls, cakes, pies, specialty desserts and other baked items
  • prepares breakfast bakery items on weekends to meet production needs
  • completes use and follows the buffet production system to ensure quality and shelf life compliance
  • ensures every product in the bakery is always fresh, tasty, visually appealing and hot when appropriate
  • maintains quality by preparing all products following Golden Corral recipes and standards
  • maintains proper portioning and recipe yields
  • follows the Bakery and Dessert Café Production Guide
  • is friendly and courteous to guests and assists them with baked goods
  • knows and follows position responsibilities as they relate to just-in-time delivery
  • performs duty roster and meets cleanliness, service, and quality standards
  • follows local health department laws
