Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
- good communication skills
- ability to operate bakery equipment safely
- capable of standing for up to 8 hours per shift
- able to transfer items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
- commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
- ability to take direction and function well in a team environment
- must adhere to safety and health regulations
- Food Handlers permit required
Job Qualifications
- Be at least 18 years of age
- have a high school diploma or equivalent
- have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
- demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
- possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
- show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
- able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- able to stand for extended periods and transfer bakery trays and items safely
- willing to adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit
Job Duties
- Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
- provide a high level of customer service by ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
- maintain cleanliness of the bakery department area including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
- stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items
- receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
- operate bakery equipment safely including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
- answer phones and take special orders
