Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • ability to work flexible schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • good communication skills
  • ability to operate bakery equipment safely
  • capable of standing for up to 8 hours per shift
  • able to transfer items up to 40 lbs without mechanical assistance
  • commitment to maintaining cleanliness and sanitation
  • ability to take direction and function well in a team environment
  • must adhere to safety and health regulations
  • Food Handlers permit required

Job Qualifications

  • Be at least 18 years of age
  • have a high school diploma or equivalent
  • have 1-2 years bakery experience or an acceptable combination of education and experience
  • demonstrate dependability and reliability with the ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • possess good communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment
  • show outgoing and friendly behavior with a positive attitude
  • able to operate bakery equipment including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • able to stand for extended periods and transfer bakery trays and items safely
  • willing to adhere to all safety, health, and weights and measures regulations and obtain a Food Handlers permit

Job Duties

  • Assist the Bakery Manager in preparing, baking, packaging, pricing, and merchandising all baked goods
  • provide a high level of customer service by ensuring bakery items are properly prepared, packaged, and presented
  • maintain cleanliness of the bakery department area including cleaning shelves, floors, and equipment
  • stock, fill, face, and ensure pricing accuracy while managing product rotation and discarding outdated items
  • receive, inspect, and log products for accuracy of shipment, temperature, and quality
  • operate bakery equipment safely including knives, scales, wrappers, compactors, garbage disposals, pallet jacks, and hand trucks
  • answer phones and take special orders
