The company prides itself on fostering a supportive work culture that values diversity, safety, and employee development, making it an employer of choice within the retail and food production industry. With multiple locations and a reputation for excellence, T&T Supermarket continues to expand its influence and maintain its standing as a top destination for Asian groceries and related products.
The Baker role at T&T Supermarket is a critical position within the Bakery Department, reporting directly to the Bakery Department Head and working closely under the supervision of the Pastry Chef. This role involves supporting the Pastry Chef by providing leadership, guidance, and overseeing daily bakery production activities. The Baker is responsible for organizing the production schedule to determine the types and quantities of baked goods to produce, ensuring efficiency and meeting customer demand. This position requires hands-on involvement in preparing ingredients and doughs for various bakery products including bread, cakes, rolls, mousse, puddings, sweet goods, batters, and frostings, following standard operating procedures or fulfilling special customer orders.
In addition to production duties, the Baker plays a vital supervisory role by monitoring product quality, inventory levels, and minimizing waste according to established standards. The individual will oversee the mixing processes of flour, dough, cake mix, and other baking ingredients while supervising the entire baking production process to guarantee the highest quality output. Providing coaching and training to Bakery Production Associates is a key function, ensuring fair workload distribution and maintaining proper scheduling to maximize workflow efficiency.
Innovation and continual improvement are also emphasized in this role, with the Baker participating in new product research and development, supporting creativity, and encouraging fresh ideas to enhance the bakery's offerings. Inventory control including ordering and replenishing supplies is managed to prevent production disruptions. Maintaining cleanliness, hygiene, equipment functionality, and workplace safety in the production area is paramount, aligning with the company’s commitment to health and safety standards.
This full-time position requires flexibility in work hours including weekdays, weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings, providing a dynamic and engaging work environment. T&T Supermarket offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, underscoring its dedication to employee well-being and career growth. Safety remains a top priority at T&T Supermarket, with strict health and safety protocols in place across its stores, food processing and production centers, and warehouses to ensure a secure working environment for all staff. T&T Supermarket is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer, promoting inclusivity and diversity in the workplace without discrimination based on any legally protected characteristic.
