Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years or older
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months up to one year of bakery or related experience
  • Ability to perform physical activities including lifting up to 50 pounds occasionally and 20 pounds frequently
  • Visual acuity including color vision, depth perception, and field of vision
  • Ability to stoop, crouch, reach, stand, walk, push, pull, lift, finger, grasp, feel, talk, hear, and perform repetitive motions
  • Must complete pre-employment drug screening
  • Adherence to company hygiene, dress, and safety guidelines
  • Reliable and punctual attendance

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Over six months to one year of similar or related bakery experience
  • Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization
  • Arithmetic skills involving fractions, decimals, and percentages
  • Good communication skills for basic interviewing and guiding
  • Experience with bakery equipment preferred
  • Customer service orientation
  • Ability to work under pressure in fast-paced environments

Job Duties

  • Provide prompt, efficient and friendly customer service by showing caring and patience
  • Greet customers warmly and address them by name when possible
  • Assist customers by escorting them to products, securing out-of-reach items, loading heavy items, noting customer suggestions and enhancing the shopping experience
  • Answer telephone calls promptly and take product orders
  • Check daily orders and create production schedules
  • Prepare, bake, and fry bakery products as required
  • Inspect products for freshness and pull stale items
  • Invoice and store received products
  • Anticipate and plan product needs for current and upcoming days
  • Inspect quality and quantity of incoming products
  • Operate bakery equipment and follow maintenance protocols
  • Check signage and labels for accuracy
  • Ensure departmental safety and cleanliness
  • Lead bakery clerks and prioritize orders
  • Proof necessary items
  • Manage frozen and chilled product inventory
  • Follow sanitation procedures and maintain clean work areas
  • Adhere to personal hygiene and dress guidelines
  • Follow company policies and store directives
  • Report to work on time and as scheduled
