Job Description
Bruegger's Bagels is a renowned establishment specializing in crafting authentic New York-style bagels and Vermont-made cream cheese. With over 35 years of experience, Bruegger's has built a strong reputation for delivering quality and tradition in every bite. The company prides itself on its commitment to genuine flavors and a work environment that values work-life balance. Their stores close early, at 2 pm, ensuring that team members never miss important life events such as dance recitals or concerts, making it an ideal workplace for those seeking a balance between professional and personal life.
The role of a Baker at Bruegger's Bagels is central to the company’s identity. Bakers are the foundation of the bakery, responsible for the early morning preparation of the bagels that customers love. The position demands an early start, with shifts beginning as early as 3 AM, where bakers engage in the kettle cooking process that defines Bruegger's unique bagels. This is more than just a job; it’s about being part of a dedicated team that takes pride in producing high-quality products and delivering excellent customer service. Bakers at Bruegger's not only focus on baking but also help stock the bagel wall and pastry case, assist with order taking and sandwich making, and maintain a clean and safe store environment. The work environment encourages teamwork and a positive attitude, contributing to a great experience for both staff and customers.
Working at Bruegger's offers significant benefits beyond competitive pay and tips. Employees enjoy never having to work past 3 PM, ensuring no evening or night shifts. The company also provides paid time off, an Employee Assistance Program offering free therapy, financial advising, and legal advice, and free online life coaching to help with stress and anxiety. Furthermore, there is a 401K plan with company match to support long-term financial security. These benefits reflect the company's commitment to the well-being and growth of its team members.
Candidates looking to join Bruegger's as Bakers must be prepared for a physically active job involving sitting, standing, bending, lifting, and moving intermittently during shifts. They must be at least 18 years old, capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, willing to work varied hours including early mornings and weekends, and able to pass a background check. Possession of a valid driver’s license is preferred or required depending on location. This role is not just about baking bagels; it’s about being integral to a traditional yet dynamic brand that values its employees and customers alike.
Bruegger's Bagels fosters an inclusive and equitable workplace culture, ensuring equal employment opportunities without regard to race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, disability, military status, or any other legally protected status. Employment decisions are made solely based on qualifications, reflecting the company's dedication to fairness and diversity.
By joining Bruegger's as a Baker, individuals become part of a team that takes pride in their craft, shares the joy of a well-made bagel, and maintains a company culture where balance, care, and quality are always at the forefront.
