Job Requirements

  • completion of a culinary school program or apprenticeship preferred
  • 0-3 years of professional baking experience preferred
  • experience with Danish or Scandinavian baking methods is a plus
  • ability to work overnight, weekends, and some holidays
  • able to lift 50+ lbs without restrictions
  • ability to stand and/or bend for extended periods to perform essential functions
  • basic math skills
  • excellent time management skills
  • must adhere to all company procedures, health and safety standards
  • compliance with food safety regulations and procedures

Job Qualifications

  • experience with mixing, bench work, proofing, and baking bread including laminated doughs

  • thorough understanding and adherence to health and safety standards
  • knowledge of food safety regulations and procedures

Job Duties

  • prepare a variety of breads, ryes, rolls, and pastries according to traditional Danish recipes
  • observe and maintain the quality of products being baked, adjust oven temperatures and baking times accordingly
  • measure and combine ingredients using mixers, heat sources, and other baking equipment
  • check quality of raw materials to ensure standards and specifications are met
  • follow portion standards during preparation
  • monitor inventory of ingredients for production needs
  • properly label and store ingredients
  • check equipment to ensure health and safety regulations compliance
  • maintain a clean and orderly workstation adhering to health and safety standards
