Job Description

Our company is a well-established hospitality business specializing in delivering exceptional bakery and pastry services. Renowned for its commitment to quality and excellence, the establishment caters to a diverse clientele including restaurants and banquet events. This company fosters a dynamic and inclusive work environment where culinary professionals can thrive and develop their skills. They emphasize adherence to food safety standards, creativity in baking, and teamwork, making it a sought-after place of employment for baking specialists. The work environment includes modern facilities equipped for large-scale production, ensuring that every baked good meets the high standards expected by guests and stakeholders alike.

We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Bakery Team Member to join our pastry department. This role is vital in ensuring the preparation, baking, and finishing of a wide array of bakery items such as cakes, pies, French pastries, cream tarts, and other desserts are consistently up to standard based on established recipes. The team member will prepare baked goods both for daily restaurant service and banquet events, managing inventory requisitions and maintaining storeroom organization under the guidance of the pastry or bakery chef. Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation at all workstations in line with Servsafe and GSR guidelines is a key part of this job, ensuring food safety and hygienic production.

The role covers various baking disciplines, including classical bread production, laminated dough preparation, cake decoration, and breakfast pastry preparation. The ideal candidate will be proactive in solving problems and making decisions that positively reflect on the company’s reputation. Effective communication both within the team and with guests and vendors is important, as is the capacity to manage multiple tasks efficiently, including opening duties and day-to-day preparations for outlets and banquets. Our team member is expected to demonstrate professionalism through good work habits, initiative, guest service, and team collaboration.

This position requires flexibility in scheduling including the willingness to work shifts during holidays, nights, and weekends as business needs arise. Candidates should be at least 18 years old with a minimum of two years’ experience in a commercial, production, or professional bakery setting, or an equivalent combination of education and training. Additionally, having Servsafe certification and at least a high school diploma or GED is required, with associate degree in culinary arts or baking and pastry arts specialization preferred.

The physical demands of this work are significant; the team member is required to stand for prolonged periods, endure heat and humidity in the baking environment, and be capable of lifting moderately heavy items. Frequent repetitive motions of hands and feet are expected and vision requirements include depth perception and color vision essential for quality control. Our company is committed to providing reasonable accommodations to ensure inclusivity for individuals with disabilities. Joining this role offers the opportunity to be part of a renowned team where passion for baking is combined with professional growth and development.
