Job Description

This job opportunity is with a reputable bakery or culinary establishment specializing in the production of a wide variety of baked goods and desserts. Such establishments typically include hotel bakeries, commercial bakeries, or restaurants with an in-house bakery department. The company prides itself on delivering high-quality products, such as cakes, pies, French pastries, cream tarts, breads, and other desserts to satisfy guest expectations across multiple service outlets, including restaurants and banquet events. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the standards of production, food safety, and presentation that uphold the company’s commitment to culinary excellence and customer satisfaction.

The role offered is that of a skilled bakery team member, responsible for the preparation, baking, and finishing of an assortment of dessert and bakery items following standard recipes and production guidelines. Candidates will work under the supervision of bakery management, ensuring adherence to Servsafe and GSR guidelines to maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and safety standards. This position requires a strong understanding of classical bread production alongside modern pastry and cake preparation techniques. The individual must be capable of managing inventory and stock rotation effectively while maintaining daily operations smoothly.

The bakery team member must demonstrate excellent communication skills, the initiative to solve problems promptly, and uphold professionalism in all business interactions. The candidate's duties will involve coordinating opening tasks such as preparing orders for outlets and banquet events, managing inventory requisitions, and assisting team members and guests as needed. The ability to work under pressure with precision and attention to detail is essential. This role also requires physical stamina given the demands of prolonged standing, lifting, and moving items in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Educational requirements include a minimum of a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for candidates holding an associate’s degree in culinary arts with a specialization in baking and pastry arts. Candidates must have a minimum of two years of bakery experience in a production, commercial, or professional kitchen setting. Certification in Servsafe is mandatory to ensure compliance with food safety standards.

Shifts may be flexible, including nights, weekends, and holidays, dictated by business needs. This role offers an opportunity for individuals who are passionate about bakery arts and seek to grow their skills in a dynamic culinary environment. The successful candidate will be valued for their dedication, consistency, and ability to work cohesively within a team to produce baked items of superior quality.
