The Bag Cook position on the 2nd shift (1:30 PM to 10:00 PM) at Kraft Heinz Cedar Rapids is pivotal to the manufacturing team. This role demands an experienced operator comfortable with working across multiple positions and shifting priorities daily. As a Bag Cook, the individual will be responsible for the precise preparation and combination of ingredients received from the prep and spice departments, strictly following company recipes and quality standards. This role requires adherence to food safety policies, safe working practices, and quality assurance measures. The Bag Cook will monitor product viscosity, wash and sanitize kettles after every formula, coordinate with the prep department to align daily schedules, and perform quality checks such as verifying product weights, item numbers, and completing HAACP checks. Key responsibilities also include accurate documentation via IQS entries and inspections, safe ingredient loading, and ensuring samples meet QA standards. Candidates must be physically capable of lifting 50 pounds overhead and tolerate working in environments involving temperature extremes. The role values attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to collaborate effectively in a team-oriented and independently driven environment. Job Duties

  • Check viscosity of soup
  • Wash and sanitize kettles after every formula to ensure a clean surface for the next product run
  • Process a daily schedule by referring to recipes and coordinating prep department
  • Fill out paperwork / IQS entries and inspections
  • Load ingredients into kettle
  • Take samples to QA
  • Retrieve/Return containers from prep/blanch
  • Quality (verify product quality, item numbers, weights, HAACP checks)
  • Safety (follow all required safe work practices - i.e. PPE, JSA)
  • Other duties as assigned
