The US Foods Driver role is a critical position within the company, responsible for safely transporting food products to various vendors and company drop-off sites. This Monday through Friday job starts between 5:00 AM and 7:00 AM, with weekly guaranteed pay of $1,250. Drivers are expected to ensure the accuracy of delivered freight, maintain proper trailer temperatures, perform pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspections, and return the tractor and trailer to the division upon route completion. This role demands a high level of attention to safety, communication, and customer service skills. Drivers must be comfortable working in varying weather conditions with frequent stops, operate equipment with care, and adhere strictly to Department of Transportation regulations.

The company requires all drivers to register with the FMCSA Clearinghouse, ensuring compliance with federal drug and alcohol testing programs. This position is suitable for individuals holding a valid Class A CDL with necessary endorsements and DOT qualifications, who also have at least six months of commercial driving experience, preferably within the food or beverage delivery industry. The ability to operate a manual transmission vehicle is preferred and may be required depending on specific locations. Drivers may be required to travel 2-3 times per week as part of their duties. English proficiency for communication, understanding traffic signs, and completing reports is essential.

Job Duties

  • Safely drive truck to vendors and company drop-off sites
  • Verify freight on truck, required trailer temperatures and accuracy of freight with vendors
  • Return tractor and trailer to division when route is completed
  • Perform all pre-trip and post-trip equipment inspection
  • Work in inclement weather conditions with frequent stops
  • Perform coupling procedures for the tractor/trailer
  • Communicate effectively in English with customers and team members
