We are currently seeking a dedicated and hardworking Back of House (BOH) Team Member to join our kitchen team. This role is essential to maintaining the smooth operation of the kitchen by preparing food items according to established recipes and quality standards. The BOH Team Member will operate kitchen equipment safely, monitor cooking times, and ensure all food is cooked properly and presented neatly. This role requires excellent attention to detail, the ability to work under pressure, and strong teamwork skills. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as maintaining cleanliness and sanitation in the kitchen, managing inventory and stock to prevent waste, and occasionally supporting customer service by answering questions or handling special requests.

Job Qualifications

  • previous experience in a fast food or restaurant kitchen is preferred but not required
  • knowledge of basic cooking techniques and kitchen equipment operation
  • understanding of food safety and sanitation practices
  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
  • strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food quality
  • excellent teamwork and communication skills
  • flexibility to work various shifts including weekends evenings and holidays

Job Duties

  • prepare menu items according to established recipes and standards
  • ensure all food items are cooked and presented according to quality and portion control standards
  • operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently such as grills fryers and ovens
  • monitor cooking times and temperatures to ensure food is cooked properly
  • assemble orders accurately and promptly to meet customer demands
  • follow all food safety guidelines and procedures including proper handwashing sanitation and storage practices
  • maintain a clean and organized work area including cleaning kitchen surfaces equipment and utensils
  • perform regular temperature checks on refrigerators freezers and cooking equipment
  • monitor inventory levels and report shortages or issues to the Kitchen Manager
  • rotate stock and ensure FIFO and proper labeling to maintain freshness and prevent waste
  • work closely with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth and efficient kitchen operations
  • communicate effectively with front-of-house staff to coordinate orders and special requests
  • assist in training new kitchen team members as needed
  • occasionally interact with customers to answer questions or handle special requests
  • ensure customer satisfaction by delivering high-quality food consistently
