Job Description
Chick-fil-A is a renowned American fast-food restaurant chain known for its exceptional customer service, high-quality food, and a unique company culture that emphasizes respect, teamwork, and leadership. Most Chick-fil-A restaurants are independently owned and operated by franchised business owners who invest deeply in their local communities and are committed to fostering a positive and inclusive work environment. This approach allows each restaurant to have a distinct but consistently high standard of service and food quality. Chick-fil-A is celebrated not only for its famous chicken sandwiches but also for its dedication to the growth and development of its team members. Working at Chick-fil-A means becoming part of a people-focused environment that prioritizes teamwork, leadership, and personal development. The company's philosophy revolves around providing outstanding service and building lasting relationships with customers and employees alike.
The Back of House Team Member role at Chick-fil-A is more than just an entry-level job; it is an opportunity for personal and professional growth within a dynamic and supportive workplace. This position is available on both a full-time and part-time basis, accommodating various scheduling needs and lifestyles. Starting pay begins at 11 dollars per hour, with opportunities for advancement and additional benefits. Back of House Team Members play a crucial role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience by preparing, cooking, assembling, and presenting food according to Chick-fil-A’s strict standards of quality and safety. Team members are expected to be knowledgeable about different kitchen stations, including fries, breading, assembling, boards, and food preparation, which fosters a well-rounded skill set.
The position offers more than day-to-day operational duties — it includes intentional growth and development opportunities to help team members reach their professional goals. Back of House Team Members enjoy a fun work environment where they can positively influence others, benefit from flexible scheduling with the unique advantage of having Sundays off, and receive firsthand mentorship from experienced Operators and Restaurant Leaders. The company also offers scholarship opportunities to support continued education, competitive pay, and an employee referral program. Moreover, the role involves maintaining a neat, clean, and safe kitchen environment, completing opening and closing tasks, and staying updated on new products and procedures through ongoing in-house training.
This role is ideal for individuals who are reliable, customer-service oriented, detail-focused, and capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment. Chick-fil-A emphasizes a culture of respect and teamwork, enabling Back of House Team Members to develop interpersonal skills and gain valuable experience that extends beyond the kitchen. The company highly values a positive attitude, the willingness to learn, and the physical ability to meet the demands of the job, including lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods. Overall, joining Chick-fil-A as a Back of House Team Member offers a rewarding career path where employees are respected, supported, and given the tools to succeed both professionally and personally.
