Job Description
Big Bad Breakfast (BBB) is a renowned restaurant established in 2008 by James Beard award-winning and Michelin-recommended chef John Currence. Known for its dedication to elevating the most important meal of the day, BBB has made a significant mark in the culinary world by offering exceptional breakfast, brunch, cocktail services, and full-service catering every day of the week. The establishment prides itself on delivering the highest quality food, drinks, and service to every guest, combining classic Southern culinary traditions with innovative cooking techniques. At BBB, excellence is not just a goal but an expectation, embodied in every interaction with guests and among staff members through clear communication, thorough education, and exceptional hospitality.
This employment opportunity is for skilled and motivated individuals to join the back-of-house team as either Line Cooks or Prep Cooks. These positions are vital in ensuring the consistency and quality that BBB is known for. The Line Cook role is responsible for preparing and cooking menu items following BBB's specific recipes and standards, maintaining food quality, presentation, and operational efficiency during peak service times. The candidate should be adept at multitasking, managing inventory, following safety protocols, and working collaboratively in a dynamic kitchen environment. Responsibilities include setting up and maintaining cooking stations, proper labeling and rotation of food products, and assisting with prep, cleaning, and closing duties.
The Prep Cook position emphasizes the preparation and portioning of ingredients, ensuring that everything needed for service meets BBB's high standards of freshness and quality. Candidates will prepare ingredients, follow prep lists, keep prep areas clean and organized, and support the line cooks during busy periods. While previous cooking experience is preferred, BBB is willing to train individuals showing reliability, strong knife skills, and an eagerness to learn. Both roles demand physical stamina, including the ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
Working at BBB offers a dynamic and fast-paced environment supported by a team-oriented culture that values professionalism, punctuality, and effective communication. Employees benefit from competitive pay, flexible schedules, employee discounts, free uniforms, health care benefits such as health and vision insurance, and paid time off. The company also emphasizes career growth through training and development opportunities. Overall, working at Big Bad Breakfast means joining a passionate, hardworking team dedicated to delivering superior food and service with pride and consistency.
