The company values its employees as essential members of the team and emphasizes leadership, communication, and professional development. Homeroom has a strong focus on maintaining high standards of food safety, operational excellence, and a welcoming atmosphere for both team members and guests.
The role of a Back of House (BOH) Floor Manager at Homeroom is a pivotal position responsible for overseeing shift operations, managing BOH staff, and ensuring adherence to the company’s brand standards. This position is crucial in maintaining an efficient and effective back-of-house team that supports the overall success of the restaurant. The BOH Floor Manager is tasked with not only running shifts but also coaching and developing team members, facilitating smooth communication between FOH and BOH staff, and upholding safety protocols. They are expected to manage employee schedules, conduct performance reviews, and participate actively in management meetings.
This role requires a leader who embodies the company’s TRIBE values and serves as an ambassador to promote a positive workplace culture. The manager will be instrumental in motivating and recognizing staff performance while ensuring compliance with legal and company policies. From managing product quality, recipe adherence, and portion control to overseeing food safety standards and handling customer complaints related to the BOH, the Floor Manager must demonstrate strong operational capabilities and business acumen. They are responsible for cost control measures including managing labor costs and cost of goods sold through waste management and proper ordering.
The BOH Floor Manager should be experienced in handling the pressure of a fast-paced restaurant environment, able to organize work efficiently despite competing demands, and consistently deliver best-in-class customer service. This position demands a candidate who is physically capable of standing, bending, reaching, and lifting throughout their shift and able to work flexible hours, including holidays, weekends, and peak periods. The candidate should have a minimum of one year in a supervisory kitchen role, with preference given to those with experience in high-volume restaurant settings and bilingual abilities in Spanish.
Homeroom offers a competitive benefits package including partial payment of medical premiums, flexible spending accounts, paid vacation, and commuter benefits. Employees are supported in their growth and encouraged to contribute ideas to improve the restaurant’s operations and culture. The company is committed to equal employment opportunities and encourages applications from individuals of diverse backgrounds, ensuring a fair and respectful workplace for all team members.
