Job Description
Fisher Investments is a global independent money management firm dedicated to helping clients achieve their long-term financial goals through personalized investment strategies and superior client service. Known for its inclusive culture and commitment to professional development, Fisher Investments offers a dynamic work environment focused on innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The company prides itself on fostering a supportive workplace where employees can grow, succeed, and contribute to a greater mission of bettering the investment universe. With a Great Place to Work Certification, Fisher Investments invests heavily in its workforce by providing comprehensive benefits and learning opportunities that empower each employee to thrive both professionally and personally.
The position of Azure Cloud Engineer at Fisher Investments is a critical role focused on enhancing and maintaining cloud infrastructure that supports the company's IT operations. As a Cloud Engineer, you will be instrumental in consulting and contributing to the improvement of IT policies, procedures, tools, security controls, and infrastructure to ensure efficient and secure operation of the Azure cloud environment. This role involves conducting research and proof of concept activities to evaluate new technologies, techniques, and tools, aiming to increase operational efficiency while improving service quality. You will collaborate closely with Infrastructure Engineering teams to ensure that all deployments meet compliance standards and security requirements, while also partnering with cloud team members, application owners, and business owners to facilitate faster and more effective resource delivery.
Your daily responsibilities will include developing, implementing, and maintaining scalable cloud infrastructure on the Microsoft Azure platform with a strong emphasis on automation and infrastructure as code (IaC) practices. You will be expected to troubleshoot cloud-related issues, optimize performance, and recommend both cloud and AI-based solutions tailored to business needs. Designing and managing scalable and resilient infrastructure, creating automation tooling for routine tasks, and deploying enterprise-scale cloud resources using code are key facets of this role. Additionally, you will act as a liaison bridging the gap between business application owners and the cloud team, ensuring clear communication and alignment with business and technical requirements.
Security is paramount in this role, and you will be responsible for following stringent security audit requirements and implementing controls in every aspect of your work. This includes participating in infrastructure as code strategies, continuous integration and continuous deployment pipelines (CI/CD), and developing tools and processes that ensure automated, efficient, and error-free deployments. You will engage in peer code reviews, design collaborations, and take part in on-call rotations to manage international and 24/7 support schedules for maintenance activities. Your work will involve managing cloud services implementations, ensuring adherence to approved designs, maintaining compliance with security standards, enabling logging and monitoring for security and audit purposes, and proactively investigating cloud usage to identify risks, gaps, and optimization opportunities.
This role requires a deep understanding of Azure cloud services, including Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS), as well as familiarity with tools such as Terraform, GitHub Actions, PowerShell, and automation technologies. Hands-on experience with Kubernetes-based platforms and AI cloud services will be a strong asset, alongside expertise in identity management, compliance, encryption, and networking fundamentals like DNS, LAN, WAN, and firewalls. This position offers a competitive salary range of $80,200 to $150,000 annually based in Washington state, with new hires typically starting at the lower end depending on experience, plus eligibility for performance-based discretionary bonuses.
Fisher Investments supports a diverse and inclusive workplace, offering benefits such as 100% paid medical, dental, and vision premiums for employees and their dependents, a 50% 401(k) match up to the IRS maximum, generous paid time off, and family support programs including paid caregiver leave and fertility assistance. This role is based in-office with potential eligibility for a hybrid work-from-home program depending on tenure and performance. Join Fisher Investments to be part of a visionary company dedicated to excellence in cloud infrastructure and technology innovation while building your career in a flourishing environment.
