The AYA Rooftop Restaurant Host plays a pivotal role in ensuring an exceptional dining experience for guests at this notable establishment. This position is responsible for greeting and seating customers in a manner that reflects the resort's standards of excellence, emphasizing courteous, friendly, and professional interaction. The Host manages the flow of reservations and walk-in guests efficiently using the OpenTable System, balancing the seating to maintain smooth service operations within the restaurant. Polished appearance, strong communication skills, and a professional demeanor are essential for success in this role as the Host acts as the first point of contact for guests, setting the tone for their overall dining experience.

In addition to greeting guests, the Host is responsible for managing reservation booking, communicating wait times clearly, escorting guests to their tables, and presenting menus with any relevant daily specials.   • Previous experience in customer service or hospitality preferred
  • Familiarity with reservation systems such as OpenTable

  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Job Duties

  • Responsible for redefining hospitality at Graton Resort & Casino while living, supporting, and promoting our values
  • Perform responsibilities in accordance with all company standards, policies, and procedures
  • Greet all guests promptly, warmly, and professionally upon arrival
  • Manage reservations, waitlists, and walk-in guests using OpenTable
  • Escort guests to their tables, presenting menus and explaining daily specials if needed
  • Follow the steps of service as outlined by the department on a consistent basis
  • Maintain an organized and clean host stand, lobby, and entrance area at all times
  • Communicate wait times clearly and accurately to guests
  • Monitor dining room flow and seat guests in a balanced manner for server sections
  • Answer the telephone promptly and professionally
  • Assist with guest inquiries and requests
  • Work closely with the management team and service staff to ensure smooth and efficient service
  • Follow all company, departmental, and health and safety policies and procedures
  • Perform opening, closing, and side duties as assigned by management
  • Promote and maintain a positive and cooperative team environment
  • Maintain a polished, professional appearance in compliance with grooming standards
